Frequently Asked Questions

  • To get reimbursed, a Superbill (an itemized receipt) will need to be sent to your insurance.

    To receive a Superbill, I will have to give you a diagnosis. We can talk more about this during our sessions.

    You have two options for submitting your Superbill.

    Option 1:
    I provide you with a Superbill (an itemized receipt) at the end of each month that you can submit to your insurance yourself.

    Option 2:
    I can submit your claims for you through Mentaya, a company that helps you use your Out-of-Network benefits.

  • I can check your Out-of-Network benefits for you during your consultation call.

    Most people can get 60%-80% of their out of pocket costs reimbursed after they’ve met their annual deductible.

    Example 1:
    At a rate of $225 per session, a 5% processing fee, and a 60% reimbursement rate, your out of pocket costs for therapy would be $101.25 per session.

    Example 2:
    At a rate of $225 per session, a 5% processing fee, and an 80% reimbursement rate, your out of pocket costs for therapy would be $56.25.

  • All sessions happen over video calls hosted on the SimplePractice platform.

    You must be located in either Colorado or Oregon at the time of our sessions.

    Weekly Therapy Appointments

    Wednesdays & Thursdays
    8am-1pm PST/9am-2pm MST

    3hr Brainspotting Intensives
    Fridays
    8am-11:30am PST /9am-12:30pm MST

    I see clients at two levels of frequency.

    Option 1: Weekly therapy
    We meet on the same day and at same time each week. You can expect me to take at least 6 weeks throughout the calendar year, so you will have breaks from our sessions when that occurs.

    Many clients work with me on a long-term basis ranging from 9 months to multiple years.

    Option 2: Brainspotting Intensive
    This is a brief form of therapy. We will meet over the course of about a month. This includes one intake session, one three-hour brainspotting intensive, and one follow up appointment.

    Some people prefer to do a Brainspotting intensive on a one-time basis, and others like to do them bi-annually or quarterly.

  • For Weekly Therapy Clients

    You are given 2 free cancellations to use per calendar year. To use a free cancellation, you’ll need to notify me at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.

    I’m also happy to explore options for rescheduling an appointment.

    If we’re not able to find a time to reschedule the appointment, your free cancellations have been used, you cancel late, or if you don’t show up for the appointment, you’ll be responsible for paying the session fee.

  • Therapy services are only available to clients who are currently located in either Oregon or Colorado at the time of any given session.
