Here’s what to expect during your therapy sessions

I’ll join our video session with a minimum of 2 drinks in hand (one Stanley full of ice water and a mug of whatever herbal tea I’m currently obsessed with). 

Instead of leaving you wondering what we’re going to talk about, if you’ll have enough to talk about, and if you can *really* share about your recurring stress dream, we’ll start every session with a recap of the previous one and set an agenda for what we’ll be getting into next.

Then we’ll use Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems to get you relief from your anxiety. If spirituality is part of your life, we might also pull a few tarot cards or craft a custom ritual for you to support the work we’re doing in therapy.

My service dog (Odin) will likely make a cameo during our session too (and if you hear him snoring…sorry in advance).

A note on self-pay therapy:

Paying for therapy directly affords you more privacy and more choices for how you get support with your anxiety.

Instead of being given a mandatory diagnosis and cut off after the 10 sessions your insurance is willing to approve, self-pay therapy allows you to better understand yourself on (and in!) your own terms.

With weekly therapy, we lean on Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems, along with your cultural and spiritual practices to get relief from anxiety.

Because you’re a whole-ass person and you deserve anxiety treatment that isn’t generic as all get out.   • I hear this a lot, and I want you to know that a bad therapy experience doesn't mean therapy doesn't work for you.

    It might mean the fit was off, the approach wasn't right for what you were dealing with, or you were paired with someone who just wasn't your person.

    What I do looks different from generic talk therapy. We don't just chat about your week and send you home with a breathing exercise. We work from a clear plan each session, address the root of what's driving your anxiety, and track actual progress over time.

    If you're willing to give it another shot, I'd love to show you what a different experience can feel like.

  • I know this might be tough to hear, but I fully believe you’ll be much better supported by working with a therapist you can afford to see weekly.

    The reason I require a weekly sessions is because I’ve seen how much better the outcomes are when folks attend therapy this consistently.

    And because I want you to have the best outcomes in therapy, I’m going to encourage you to find a therapist who’s fees won’t cause more financial strain for you.

  • I’m always happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance.

    Providing a superbill means I have to provide you with a diagnosis, which we can talk more about during our sessions.

    If you have out-of-network benefits through a PPO plan, your insurance provider might decide to reimburse you between 20%-80% for therapy costs.

  • Weekly therapy sessions are offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-1pm MST.

    We’ll meet at the same time each week.

    All sessions happen virtually through SimplePractice’s video platform. Due to state laws, you must be located in Colorado or Oregon at the time of our virtual sessions.

  • Most clients meet with me weekly for Anxiety Therapy for about 4-12 months.

    Some people find after 12 months that they enjoy having a dedicated space for support and continue working with me.

    If you prefer to work more quickly or for a shorter amount of time, I recommend a Brainspotting Intensive.

  • If anxiety is affecting your sleep, your relationships, your ability to make decisions, or your enjoyment of everyday life, it's serious enough to get support.

    You don't have to be having panic attacks in a grocery store parking lot to "qualify" for therapy.

    A lot of the people I work with look totally fine from the outside. They're hitting their deadlines, showing up for everyone in their life, and keeping it all together. Internally though? They’re running on fumes and self-doubt.

    If you're exhausted from managing it alone, that's enough of a reason to reach out.

  • Yes! And for a lot of people, it's actually better. Research consistently shows that online therapy produces the same outcomes as in-person therapy for anxiety.

    And practically speaking, there's something to be said for doing the emotional heavy lifting from the comfort of your own couch instead of fighting traffic to sit in a waiting room with fluorescent lighting.

    I've been working with clients fully online since 2020, and the depth of the work we do together is just as profound.

    All you need is a private space and a decent internet connection.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

    Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

    If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
